The management of Russian gambling and tourist zones summed up the results of work in 2022 as part of a press conference. Over the past year, about 1.3 million tourists visited the clusters. Industry representatives also note an upward trend in non-gaming revenues, which currently account for 15%. At the same time, investment programs continue to be implemented in gambling zones, in including investing in updating software and gaming equipment. According to experts, the complete replacement of foreign software and hardware with domestic ones will cost the clusters about 500 million rubles.

The volume of investment in the Russian gambling industry has grown 1.5 times
Dmitry Anfinogenov, Chairman of the Industry association AIRIS. According to him, in 2021, investment inflows into the gambling industry amounted to 600 million rubles, and by the end of 2022, the figure will exceed 1 billion rubles. In 2023, the expert expects a two-fold increase in investments – up to 2 billion rubles.
This growth is explained by the active investments of Russian business, which was previously aimed at investing in foreign projects. The absence of Western investors also compensates for the capital that comes from a number of friendly countries. Investments were mainly directed towards the purchase of land plots, the purchase of new equipment, and the creation of appropriate infrastructure.
One of the residents of the Far Eastern gambling cluster is threatened with bankruptcy. This resident – “Diamond Fortune” company, which is registered in the Primorsky Territory. The bankruptcy of the investor was initiated by the Perspektiva organization, which is engaged in complex design and is the bankruptcy creditor of the resident. Back in 2017, both parties entered into an agreement, after which “Perspective” prepared a project contract for the construction of a hotel with the Imperial casino. The first stage of the casino with the hotel was supposed to be built in the fall of 2020, however, establishments in the gambling zone did not appear. Moreover, Diamond Fortune did not pay for the services of “Prospects” in the amount of 15 million rubles. In this regard, “Perspective” and initiated an attempt to declare the debtor bankrupt.
The State Duma wants to make gambling a part of the tourism industry
The idea to make the gambling business a direction of event tourism was expressed by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the State Duma Sangadzhi Tarbaev. The parliamentarian is sure that such an approach will allow to actively develop and promote the gambling direction, which, by its nature, cannot exist in Russia outside the tourism vector.
