Single adjuster joins fight against conventions
The bill on combating match-fixing was approved in the first reading. According to the document, sports federations, leagues and competition organizers will be able to directly request information from ERAI about bets made by athletes in official sports competitions. Based on the data received from the Unified Regulator, sports federations will be able to disqualify athletes, referees, coaches and other interested parties for betting on the outcome of their competitions. ERAI representatives report that they are ready to join the fight against fixed matches and have all the necessary data on bets made in legal betting offices in Russia.
The Federal Tax Service will be able to block illegal bookmakers without a trial and online casino
The federal portal with draft regulations posted a draft order of the tax service, which gives the department the right to block the websites of unlicensed bookmakers and online casinos without litigation. A similar rule will apply to anonymizing sites that help bettors access illegal betting sites, as well as to sites that advertise offshore betting houses. Public discussion of the draft order will last until February 3. If adopted, the document will enter into force on September 1, 2023.
Sports leagues and federations ask for easing of advertising restrictions for bookmakers
The Russian Football Union, the Kontinental Hockey League and the Ice Hockey Federation submitted a draft amendment to the law “On Advertising”. In the document, representatives of Russian sports made proposals regarding the permission for bookmakers to place promos on the entire territory of sports buildings, including on the facades of buildings, and not just inside the bowls of stadiums. It is also proposed to lift the ban on advertising using images of animals and people. In addition, sports leagues want to get permission to advertise betting houses on their websites. Such concessions, according to representatives of Russian leagues and federations, will increase the income of the leagues by expanding the betting budgets for advertising.

Not so long ago, Darina Denisova announced her resignation from the post of head of the Association of Bookmakers. And now it became known who became the new president of the SRO. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, since January 19, 2023, the post has been occupied by Irina Budyanskaya, who also leads the Association of Betting Companies, founded in 2014.

“Asia Invest Group”, one of the investors of the gambling cluster “Primorye”, presented a draft design of a casino for 200 slot machines and 30 gaming tables. In addition to the casino, the complex also provides for the construction of a hotel with 60 rooms. The structure of five floors will be made in the stellar-space theme. The authors believe that such a design solution will distract visitors from everyday life and take them into the atmosphere of a completely different world. The implementation of the project requires at least 2.5 billion rubles of investments. Construction will begin as early as March 2023.
Russia and Iran want to create a gold-pegged stablecoin
Countries are discussing the possibility of creating a stablecoin of the Persian region, which will simplify and speed up foreign trade settlements. The authorities are confident that while dollar settlements between countries are prohibited due to sanctions, the development of a gold-backed stablecoin will be an effective way to continue trade cooperation between countries. However, in order to implement such a decision, the Russian authorities need to regulate the cryptocurrency market in the country at the state level.
