The local regulator conducted a detailed analysis of the work of operators in the last quarter of 2021. It turned out that the activity of land-based establishments showed good growth:
- Lottery lines Svenska Spel and Vegas slots earned SEK 1.68 billion in Q4, up 3% on the same period in 2020.
- Cosmopol Casino, which reopened in July, was able to earn SEK 144 million in the 4th quarter.
- Revenue from public lotteries and slot machines amounted to SEK 5.83 billion. This is 7.2% more than in the previous period for 2020.
- The land-based casino chain Casino Cosmopol closed revenue in 2021 in the amount of SEK 277 million.
< p>Revenue from charitable lotteries fell 9.4% last year. Bingo revenue also decreased by 5%. Restaurant casinos managed to close the reporting period by 90.6%.
The Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen noted that the total income from online casino activities amounted to 16.12 billion SEK. This indicates a large activity of users on the Internet. However, gamblers often visit land-based establishments. Therefore, the income from them in 2021 increased by 5% compared to the previous year. This allows us to hope that soon offline casinos will overtake gambling sites in popularity and become the main places for gambling in Sweden. 95 companies. They have licenses for the Swedish market, and 65 of them can operate online.
